Antique Banjara textile, probably from the mid-20th century. Beautifully and intricately embroidered and embellished with mirror work and cowrie shells. Seems to be dyed with natural colours.
The textile is in good condition overall. I restored this piece - reattached all the cowrie shells that had been taken off the edge and sewn onto the middle of the textile, and cut and fit all the mirrors that had been missing.
This Banjara patch is a collectible piece and would look great in a frame!
