Beautiful, light-weight indigo cotton cloth from Mali, traditionally worn as a wrapper.
The indigo-dyed textile consists of eight hand-woven strips that were hand-stitched together to form a larger blanket. The textile features a resist-dye pattern (inspired by cowrie shells).
In good vintage condition - we mended the blanket in several places with patches from a different textile, featuring some lovely resist-dye fish. We also opened up a fringe on either side.
Would look great as a throw blanket, wall hanging or even beach wrapper!
Length (without fringe): 146cm or 58 inches
Width: 116cm or 45 inches
Weight: about 350 grams
Care instructions: hand-wash and air-dry. A machine wash with a delicate cycle should be ok, too. Iron hot.
