A lovely, quite large vintage Kuba cloth from the Democratic Republic of Congo. The entire piece is made from raffia, a fibre taken from a palm tree, in shades ranging from beige to black. The Kuba textile features a fluffy fringe around the edges.
As a textile is quite stiff in texture and, as such, does not behave like a "normal" fabric, more like a mat. This particular piece is in very good condition.

The fabric would make a lovely wall hanging or could be used to make cushions or anything else you can think of!
