A lovely vintage Kuba cloth from the Democratic Republic of Congo. The entire piece is made from raffia, a fibre taken from a palm tree, dyed in different colours. This one comes with a lovely heart pattern in black, beige and tan and is in good shape.
The Kuba cloth is quite stiff in texture and as such does not behave like a "normal" textile, more like a mat. This particular piece is in good vintage condition, with a few loose threads here and there.
